Dynamic Process Simulation & Operator Training Simulators

“We have just installed the TSC Virtual Control Room and dynamic simulation software at the University of Southampton to support our chemical engineering programmes. The packages seem quite comprehensive and will provide an immersive experience with many of the major equipment and processes in chemical engineering.

“TSC conducted dynamic process modelling of our Felindre Compressor Station to understand the implications of pressure uprating as part of our Western Gas Network project. The modelling considered various running, changeover, and failure scenarios to give confidence in the safety and suitability of existing plant and equipment.”

Implementing this digital tool in our Department has enhanced the understanding of industrial processes during design, safety and control lectures and practical laboratory sessions. The TSC IVP deepened the communication and collaboration of design team members. As a digital technology, TSC IVPs help bridge the critical gap in Chemical Engineering education.

Thanks again for all the work and care you’ve put into developing the software. It’s a really helpful teaching tool- I can’t let students run a $50M 3-phase separator, start pump fires and blow themselves up (University frowns on it). But it’s great to be able to do it in a simulation, potentially with 100 students simultaneously, and then discuss it in class. Much more interesting than a lecture!
