Site Specific Operator Training Simulator- Nippon Gohsei

Posted by Marketing on Monday 19th June 2017

TSC Simulation have been working with Nippon Gohsei UK to create a dynamic simulation model of their EVOH (Ethylene-Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer) plant in Hull.

Their manufacturing Facility in the UK is situated on the Saltend Chemicals Park and specialises in EVOH barrier packaging solutions- including packaging material for preserving flavour and freshness.

TSC were tasked with creating a site-specific replica of their manufacturing and distillation plant to provide plant and process training for their operators.

The model features included

  • Temperature and pressure dependent Catalysed polymer reactions
  • Multi- stage solvent recovery via distillation.
  • Gas Compression
  • Complex sequences for start-up, shut-down and plant operations
  • Honeywell DCS System

The project included regular visits between both Nippon Gohsei and TSC to ensure full site simulation functionality. Tom Pretty, TSC’s lead technical engineer said; “it’s been a pleasure to work alongside the team at Nippon Gohsei on what has been an engaging project, and I look forward to working with the team in the future”

TSC can offer complete Site specific operator training simulators (OTS) to emulate a process plant and have provided sites worldwide with site specific control room operator training. we specialise in the emulation of DCS control screen graphics, including Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Honeywell, Siemens, Rockwell Automation and others – these allow a cost-effective site simulation solution to be run at very high graphical and chemical fidelity on standard PCs with no ongoing licencing costs.
